Frequently asked questions

The short version of how the shop works. For the longer story and our business details, see the about page.

Does The Koala Shop sell products directly?

No. The Koala Shop is a curated discovery site. We import koala-themed listings from Amazon, screen them for relevance, and link out to them. Every purchase happens on Amazon under Amazon's own terms, pricing and returns policy.

How do you choose which koala gifts to feature?

We screen Amazon listing titles for a genuine koala theme and hide items that mention koala only in passing. Automated tools also draft a short title and blurb from the listing information. We do not test every item or independently verify customer reviews, so check its Amazon page before buying.

Are the prices shown on the site current?

Prices and stock are imported from Amazon and refreshed on a regular schedule, and each page shows when its prices were last checked. Because Amazon prices can change at any moment, the price and availability shown on Amazon at the point of checkout are the ones that apply.

Do you earn a commission on purchases?

Yes. The Koala Shop is a participant in the Amazon Associates programme, so we may earn a small commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. This is what funds the curation. The commission never changes which products we recommend.

How often do you add new products?

New koala finds are imported on a weekly schedule, and prices and stock are re-checked more frequently. Recent additions appear on the New page. The Sale page compares current prices with the highest price this shop has recorded; it is not an Amazon list-price comparison.

What happens if a product goes out of stock?

We automatically hide products that Amazon reports as out of stock, so you do not waste time on dead links. If a product comes back into stock on a later check, we show it again. Products we have hidden by hand for quality reasons stay hidden regardless of stock.
